Esmé Weijun Wang's Hocus, Pocus is a perspective piece on a childhood obsession with the world of closeup magic, growing up, and why you should never meet your heroes. In my design approach to this interactive story, I took advantage of Wang's descriptive storytelling to create collage graphics with a magician-inspired flare. I wanted to expand my work into a realm other than illustration, and felt that collage would be a new and interesting design choice to bring this story to life.
